Be my Valentine…

I’m not sure how it’s even time to be thinking about Valentine’s Day already, yet here we are.  I feel like every holiday I go through a similar cycle of emotions.

  1. Being annoyed by society expectation and mass consumerism

  2. Curmudgeon Jessica not wanting to participate

  3. Mommy Jessica wanting to make some magical memories for my kiddo

  4. Architect Jessica looking forward to a fun little project.

  5. Finding a bit of a compromise between making magical memories, satisfying creative urges and not stressing myself out too much.

The kiddo really enjoyed our small amounts of Christmas and Birthday decorations, so I think this red and pink garland will be fun for the house. Last year we got store bought Valentine’s, but this year I want to attempt to make our own together. Neon paper + heart stickers + candy should be easy enough for the kid to start and me to finish. And most importantly, a treat for the grown ups! I think this year I’ll be adding some citrus and tequila to our infuser and pretend we’re fancy.
