Calek Streeting Bungalow Kitchen Refresh
One of the fun projects on the Calek Streeting Bungalow 2025 project list is a Kitchen Refresh. We’ve done basically nothing to our kitchen for 10 years because it always felt like the big renovation was going to be next year. Well, after a decade of “next year” not happening, we’ve decided to focus on updating the kitchen within a smaller timeframe and budget. It’s not going to be a complete renovation -- we’re keeping the cabinets and floors as is, because I don’t want to make any big investments until it's time for my dream kitchen.
Here is what we are focused on for the refresh. First up is new appliances — our fridge and oven are well past their prime and this feels like a great way to make the kitchen feel new without a complete overhaul. We recently purchased a new Samsung fridge and oven, both black stainless, and we can’t we wait for them to be delivered! We might splurge on some new Caraway pans, but we’ll definitely be keeping our favorite yellow Le Creuset Dutch Oven.
The kitchen will also be getting a fresh coat of paint. We’re still deciding on a color, but it’ll probably be a cool white that we’ve used elsewhere in the house. We’re hoping that with a new light fixture, a kitchen rug, fresh hardware, new counter stools, and some colorful accessories, the kitchen will have a new vibe.
